Anthem Blue Cross (not to be confused with Blue Shield,) has announced they will be exiting the Individual Health Plan market effective January 1st, 2018, except in a few areas. If you live in the counties below, then your coverage is safe. If you are an Anthem member through an Individual/Family Plan (including Covered California) and do not live in one of these counties, then you will have to select a new plan on your renewal. The counties that Anthem will continue to offer individual coverage are; Butte, Colusa, Del Norte, Glenn, Humboldy, Lake, Lake, Lassen, Mariposa, Mendocino, Merced, Modoc, Nevada, Plumas, San Joaquin, Santa Clara, Shasta, Sierra, Siskiyou, Stanislaus, Sutter, Tehama, Trinity, Tulare and Yuba.
